We recently reached out to all of our stockists to see if they could spare a moment to focus on the below set of five questions that we had for them. We wanted their take and thoughts in relation to mens grooming.
In our first interview of four we spoke with the above chap on the right, Ben. With him is his fellow co-founder, Michael and together they own, run and operate Australia's leading retailer of men's grooming products, Beard & Blade Supply Co.
Here's what Ben had to say:
Question 1) Please describe Beard & Blade Supply Co in one sentence. Beard & Blade is Australia’s largest men’s grooming supplies store with quality products at affordable prices.
Question 2) Tell us about why you feel wet shaving has enjoyed a resurgence since the late 2000s? By and large, the tools used for wet shaving have remained unchanged for decades.
What has changed, however, is the internet. Not only is information about wet shaving much easier to find, online retailers such as ourselves have given access to these great products on a much wider scale than was ever possible.
Question 3) If you could give today’s gentleman three grooming tips, what would they be? Firstly, find a great barber that can not only deliver consistently great haircuts, but that understands your personal style and can steer you towards the hair fashion trends that suit you, and away from the ones that don’t.
In that same way, take the time to understand your own personal style and allow it to grow and age as you do. Lastly, don’t take it too seriously! Enjoying the finer aspects of men’s grooming should be a positive experience and there’s always new things to try that keep it interesting.
Question 4) How important is it for guys to take pride in their appearance and overall presentation? The thing about first impressions is that you only get one of them! Taking a little extra time each day to ensure you look your best is certainly worth it – you never know who you’ll meet!
Question 5) Tell us about what you have planned for 2018. 2017 was a year of change for Beard & Blade. We moved warehouses, launched a brand new website and finally began to release our own range of products. Next year will be full-steam ahead in building on what we’ve done this year and continuing to serve the men of Australia with the best grooming products in the world.
