Star Noir Tallow Shaving Soap
What does it smell of? Star Noir is a scent inspired by our love of British music icon, David Bowie. It politely nods its cap to one of his favourite scents which was 'Minotaure' by Paloma Picasso.
The final version is an enigmatic and bohemian blend that opens with notes of jasmine absolute, clary sage, bergamot and coriander. Anchoring the scent are layers of amber, musk, sandalwood, ylang ylang, benzoin and patchouli. It is a shape shifting fragrance that dries down to a stubborn and powdery finish.

I really like this. The shaving feel is great and it lathers easily, and the scent is lovely, while more subtle than some, it has a decent longevity lasting well into the evening. It makes wearing a mask for public transport a much more pleasurable experience. Can't attest to it's resemblance to Minotaure as I haven't tried that, but I may splash some cash if it's similar
Bought this soap because I love Paloma Picasso Minotaure EDT and still use it.
Whilst it an excellent performing soap, it bears no resemblance in my opinion to Minotaure. It's not a bad scent but not the magic of Minotaure I was hoping for.
Being a life-long fan of Minotaure I was a little disappointed that the smell wasn't as close as I had hoped. However, it is still a very nice smell and, although initially a bit too sweet and powdery for my taste, it settles down into a very nice fragrance and lasts well. The shaving experience is exceptionally good. Lathers perfectly every time and provides plenty of glide.
Love the fragrance of this great shaving soap!
Shaving soap is excellent, easy to lather after blooming and slick and smooth as silk.
However, this is all about the scent. I didn't know 'Minotaure', but if this is similar it's a heady, old fashioned (nowt wrong with that) perfume where the Ylang Ylang takes the initial lead.
I like it very much, and if David Bowie liked it, then so do I. I still can't get used to him not being around and this prolongs a lifetime love and preserves the memory!
